Torrey Peters is an American author whose writing career began with self-published trans-themed novellas, including The Masker and Infect Your Friends and Loved Ones. Her debut novel, Detransition, Baby, was published in 2021, won the PEN/Hemingway Award for debut fiction, and was nominated for the Women's Prize for Fiction. Her second book, Stag Dance, was published in 2025 as a collection of genre-spanning novellas and stories.
