Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah is an American writer raised in Spring Valley, New York, and based in the Bronx. His debut short-story collection, Friday Black, became a New York Times bestseller and won the PEN/Jean Stein Book Award and the William Saroyan International Prize for Writing. His debut novel, Chain-Gang All-Stars, was a National Book Award finalist and established him as a major voice in contemporary speculative and socially engaged fiction.
