Elaine Hume Peake is a historical-fiction author and co-author, with Don Keith, of the A Call to War series, including The Kaboom Boys, The Blacksmith of Dachau, and Goodnight from Berlin. Her writing is inspired by her father’s World War II service as an Army bomb-disposal captain. Before becoming an author, she worked for decades in television news and earned multiple Emmys and a George Foster Peabody Award for her 9/11 coverage.
