Thomas E. Ricks is an American journalist and bestselling nonfiction author who spent much of his reporting career covering the U.S. military and national security for The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post. A member of two Pulitzer Prize–winning reporting teams, he later became a full-time book writer known for works on military leadership, the Iraq War, American political thought, and the Civil Rights Movement.
