Clare Leslie Hall is an English novelist and journalist who spent the first half of her career working for national newspapers. She previously published the domestic-noir thrillers Him and Mine under the name Clare Empson, which are being republished as Pictures of Him and Days You Were Mine. She lives with her family in Dorset, whose countryside inspired Broken Country.
