Brad Smith is a Canadian novelist and screenwriter from southern Ontario who began publishing fiction after working a wide range of jobs, including railway signalman, farmer, carpenter, teacher, and truck driver. He has written more than a dozen novels spanning crime, western, military, and speculative fiction; One-Eyed Jacks was shortlisted for the Dashiell Hammett Award, All Hat was adapted into a feature film, and The Return of Kid Cooper won the 2019 Spur Award for Best Traditional Western Novel.
