Seventy-plus-year-old Lorilee Riley, a Florida resident bound by HOA rules to keep only eight cats, finds herself caring for many more after Hurricane Ian. Amid her feline sheltering, she is approached by her neighbor Mitzi to help clear her son's name from criminal accusations. Balancing her responsibilities with a budding mystery, Lorilee and her ward Jess navigate a tense situation where amateur sleuthing might lead to unforeseen dangers.
