Mary

Set in a Berlin rooming house, this story follows Lev Ganin, a young officer reflecting on his first love, Mary, and the idyllic days of pre-revolutionary Russia. His memories are contrasted with the reality of a neighboring boarder, who turns out to be Mary’s husband, awaiting her return from Russia amidst the upheaval of the Revolution.
