Raid on Cochecho

Set against the backdrop of 17th-century New Hampshire, this story follows Grace Hampton, a young orphan whose life changes dramatically after overhearing plans of conflict and forming a bond with another orphaned child, Menane. Thirteen years later, the two reencounter each other, now living separate but interconnected lives—Grace as a cheesemonger and Menane as a tribal warrior. When danger threatens, Menane must make life-threatening choices to protect Grace, highlighting themes of loyalty and bravery amid turbulent times.
