Nothing Else But Miracles

Twelve-year-old Dory Byrne and her brothers live on New York City's Lower East Side during World War II, relying on their community to get by as they await their father's return from war. When their landlord unexpectedly passes away and a new, harsh landlord moves in, the family finds themselves in need of a hiding place, leading them to discover an old, seldom-used elevator and the hidden hotel it serves.
