Misinterpretation

Set against the backdrop of Albania’s intense and evocative atmosphere, this story follows a reluctant Albanian interpreter working with a Kosovo torture survivor in present-day New York City. As she becomes immersed in her clients’ struggles, her own memories and emotions resurface, leading her to make impulsive decisions that threaten her relationship and mental well-being. Her spontaneous trip to Albania prompts reflection on her life abroad, ultimately raising questions about reality and the lingering shadows of the past.
