Pulga, Chico, and Pequeña are three teens united by their hopes, grief, and pride as they navigate the perilous journey from Guatemala through Mexico along La Bestia, seeking a chance at a better life. Confronted with dangers and realities that threaten their very survival, they are forced to run from their homes, families, and the familiarity of their childhoods. With only their backpacks and unwavering determination, the trio must face an uncertain future, knowing that escape might be their only hope.
