Malcolm Greene, a Scotsman, joins the Swedish army during the Thirty Years War, fighting alongside notable figures like Mackay, Hepburn, and Munro in pivotal battles. Throughout his journey, he faces rebellious peasants, goes undercover, and ultimately finds love with Thelka.
