Beautiful Blackbird

This charming tale, adapted by Coretta Scott King Award winner Ashley Bryan from a story told by Zambia's Ilaspeaking people, follows the interactions of a unique black-feathered bird named Blackbird and his forest friends. While all the other birds envy Blackbird’s colorful, shimmering feathers, Blackbird shares a lesson about inner beauty, even as he thoughtfully tries to help his friends see their own worth.
