Professor William Bates embarks on a journey from California to Iowa seeking inspiration for a new novel, only to find himself drawn into the dark history of Viking Lake. As eerie sounds, ghostly visions, and local mysteries unfold, he encounters supernatural elements and strange characters that challenge his understanding of time and reality. Together, they must confront the haunting secrets of the area before he can return to 1972 or become trapped in 1945.
