Set against the backdrop of post-9/11 New York, this story follows Hans, a Dutch-born banker who, after his family departs for London, immerses himself in the city's vibrant immigrant subculture, particularly through the sport of cricket. Through his friendship with the charismatic Chuck Ramkissoon, Hans begins to rediscover hope and connection in a city layered with dreams, struggles, and diverse aspirations. The narrative explores larger themes of American identity and the elusive nature of the American Dream, while portraying a deeply personal journey of loss, renewal, and belonging.
