The End of the Line

Set in the winter of 1884, this story follows Durrant Wallace, a veteran Mountie returning to active duty to investigate the brutal murder of a CPR section boss in a remote Canadian shantytown. As tensions rise among tired and cold railway workers, Durrant navigates a landscape filled with potential suspects, including smugglers, spies, and meddling politicians. With his own physical limitations and a keen sense of determination, he works to uncover the killer before they strike again and threaten the building of Canada's railway dreams.
