Quest for the Well of Souls

Mavra Chang, a once-infamous master criminal, has been imprisoned in a nonhuman body on the Well World for 11 years. This planet, the hub of the universe, is filled with diverse, separated races and contains the key to her restoration, a powerful supercomputer hidden on an orbiting planetoid. To regain her original form, Mavra must navigate the perilous northern hemisphere, where survival is impossible and her enemies lurk, intent on thwarting her escape and seizing the spaceship.
