In "Constantinople, 388 AD," young Videricus, the heir to the throne of the Greuthungi, finds himself on the run after a theft, leading him to collide with the formidable Roman protector, Stilicho. Joining the Roman army alongside his friend Ulrich, Videricus embarks on a transformative journey through battle and leadership amid an impending civil war orchestrated by the Eastern emperor, Theodosius. As tensions rise, Videricus must navigate the precarious balance between loyalty and ambition, culminating in a pivotal clash at the River Frigidus that will alter the fate of the empire.
