A Day of Judgment

In July 1921, a sweltering heatwave draws holiday-makers to the picturesque coast of Northumberland and the sacred "Holy Island" of Lindisfarne, known for its historical significance to Saints Cuthbert and Aiden. However, the discovery of a murdered man near the island disrupts the peace, raising concerns for both the Church of England and the government. Scotland Yard sends newly promoted detective Rutledge to unravel the mystery and safeguard the Church’s reputation, all while navigating the tense local dynamics and his own wartime traumas.
