A Pale Horse

In the spring of 1920, five boys venture into the Yorkshire dales, aiming to conjure the Devil at the ruins of Fountains Abbey. Instead, they encounter a sinister figure, leading to a panicked escape and the loss of a stolen alchemy book. The next morning, a mysterious body cloaked in a gas mask is found in the abbey, prompting Inspector Rutledge's investigation into the man's identity and the secrets held by the villagers, all while a chilling chalk sculpture of a pale horse looms in the background.
