Escape from East Berlin

Set against the backdrop of the Berlin Wall, "Escape from East Berlin" weaves together the stories of young Marta and Kurt, whose lives are shaped by the division of their city. In December 1961, Marta witnesses the sudden rise of barbed wire, while by January 1989, Kurt navigates the complex emotions surrounding his unseen neighbors across the wall. Inspired by real events, the narrative alternates between their daring quests for freedom, exploring themes of triumph and tragedy in both the earliest and final chapters of the Wall's history.
