In the spring of 1919, as delegates gather in Paris to negotiate peace after four years of war, British diplomat Sir Henry Maxted is found dead outside a Montparnasse apartment, raising questions about the circumstances of his fall. His sons, Max and Ashley, travel to Paris to retrieve their father's body, but soon discover that the official police explanation is deeply flawed. Driven by a desire to uncover the truth behind his father's mysterious death, Max navigates a perilous landscape of espionage and intrigue, where hidden alliances and dangerous adversaries lurk, testing his resolve and putting his own life at risk.
