The Detour

In 1938, Ernst Vogler, a 26-year-old tasked by the Third Reich’s Sonderprojekte, embarks on a seemingly straightforward mission to retrieve the Classical Roman statue, The Discus Thrower, in Rome. However, his plans unravel when his Italian escorts, twin brothers with their own agendas, lead him down an unexpected and perilous path. As Vogler grapples with shifting priorities, unforeseen dangers, and the complexities of love, he finds himself embracing an unpredictable adventure on the brink of war.
