Featuring notable authors like Agatha Christie and Freeman Wills Crofts, the collection includes both familiar series detectives and fresh narratives, including Christie's "The Incident of the Dog’s Ball" and Dorothy L. Sayers' previously unpublished "The House of the Poplars." Additionally, it presents a full-length novella by John Dickson Carr and unique "flash fiction" stories commissioned by Collins' Crime Club.
