The Talking Earth

Billie Wind, a member of the Seminole tribe, grapples with the clash between her tribal customs and the stark realities of pollution and nuclear war. Seeking understanding and truth, she ventures into the Everglades alone, defying the doubts cast by the Seminole Council. In the wilderness, accompanied by an otter, a panther cub, and a turtle, Billie learns to listen to the land and its creatures, gradually discovering that the legends of her people hold the answers she craves.
