Shanghai Sun

In 1628, Yuan Chonghuan, a revered general of the Ming Emperor, leads the North-East Army against the invading Manchus, showcasing exceptional bravery despite being outnumbered. After ten years of successful defense, political intrigue leads to his wrongful execution, accompanied by a curse directed at the Emperor, who ultimately faces a tragic fate. This historical narrative intertwines with the tale of two Portuguese sailors who rescue a princess, connecting the past to the descendants of the sailors in modern times—two Americans whose lives are forever impacted by the curse.
