Wine expert Benjamin Cooker visits Paris to assist with vineyards in Montmartre, a place filled with personal history for him. While reconnecting with an old friend who runs a notable wine shop, they become entangled in a mystery involving an attempted murder that blurs the lines between past and present. Joined by his assistant Virgile, Cooker’s investigation takes them from Djibouti's sands to the vineyards of Côte du Rhône, revealing hidden stories along the way.
