American Delirium

In a small Midwestern city, a rising deer population starts attacking its residents, prompting Beryl, a spirited senior, to rally her fellow retirees in a hunt for the animals. Meanwhile, a group of protesters has chosen to abandon society, leaving their responsibilities behind, including Berenice’s mother, who has vanished, leading Berenice to search for clues in an old scrapbook. Vik, a Caribbean immigrant and taxidermist, begins to connect the dots between the dropouts and the escalating deer conflict but grapples with his hesitations about intervening. As each character navigates a world rife with contradictions, they unexpectedly come to each other’s aid in meaningful ways.
