Goldstein

In 1931 Berlin, a tense power struggle brews in the city's underworld as American gangster Abraham Goldstein takes refuge at the Hotel Excelsior under FBI surveillance, overseen by Detective Gereon Rath. As Rath grapples with monotony and a side case from his dubious friend Johann Marlow, he finds himself entangled in the violent turf war. Simultaneously, his girlfriend Charly's actions with an interrogated young woman unwittingly bring their investigations into conflict. Set against the backdrop of a divided Berlin, the story juxtaposes the world of organized crime with the rising tide of Nazism.
