In a remote island nation called Doggerland, Detective Inspector Karen Eiken Hornby faces an unsettling investigation when a man's body is discovered in a flooded quarry on Christmas morning. With her colleagues unavailable, Karen must navigate the challenges of limited resources and festive distractions while returning to the northern island of Noorö, where her estranged family resides.
