Everything Sad is Untrue

In a middle school classroom in Oklahoma, Khosrou, known as "Daniel," struggles to share his extraordinary story amid skepticism from his peers. Despite being dismissed as just a boy with an unusual lunch and misunderstood interests, Daniel recounts his family's harrowing escape from Iran, their time in refugee camps, and memories of a vibrant past in Isfahan. Through his storytelling, he seeks to assert his identity and reclaim his truth, weaving a rich tapestry of beauty and fear from his family's history.
