Rosinante to the Road Again

In post-World War I Spain, John Dos Passos weaves a tale of two travelers journeying on foot from Madrid to Toledo, echoing the adventures of Don Quixote. Their encounters with the locals highlight the clash between traditional agrarian life and emerging industrial forces. Interspersed with reflections on contemporary Hispanic poets and novelists, this early work showcases Dos Passos's lyrical prose and keen observations on societal change.
