Thirteen-year-old Aluna, a member of the Coral Kampii, has always lived underwater in the City of Shifting Tides. When the technology that enables her colony to breathe begins to fail, Aluna and her friend Hoku decide to brave the perilous Above World in search of answers, discovering that other colonies also face dire challenges.
