Bedrock of Empire

In "Bedrock of Empire," the sequel to the award-winning "Roman Mask," Cassius returns to a Rome that shuns the survivors of a disastrous military defeat. Disillusioned by his hero’s welcome turned sour, he soon finds himself caught in the treacherous politics of the imperial family. As tensions rise, Cassius learns that his former friend, Julius Arminius, may be threatening another province, prompting him to journey to Spain in search of Arminius's younger brother, who might hold the key to stopping him.
