Sublieutenant Tom Thrush's career teeters on the edge after a failed training mission, prompting him to make a reckless wager to lead a squad in a mock attack on the visiting gunboat Diana. Sneaking aboard, he quickly discovers a dangerous plot involving a traitor intending to destroy the admiral's yacht.
