Beautiful Star

This atmospheric black comedy, available in English for the first time, is a unique departure from Yukio Mishima's usual work, focusing on the Osugi family who discover that each member comes from a different planet—Mars, Jupiter, Mercury, and Venus. Their extraterrestrial origin brings them closer and spurs a mission to seek out others like them and protect humanity from the threat of nuclear war. The novel explores themes of family, love, and cosmic destiny in a thought-provoking and surreal narrative.
