The Color of Sacrifice

Set in 1933, this historically inspired novel follows two grieving mothers, Thelma and Charlotte Hayes, whose contrasting perspectives on a segregated pilgrimage to France for war memorials challenge their personal beliefs and bond them through shared loss. As they navigate the injustices of segregation and their desire for closure, they face difficult choices about sacrifice, dignity, and honoring their loved ones' memories. The story explores themes of love, loss, reconciliation, and the high human cost of war during a time of social division.
