Fortson's Chapter by Chapter Bible Commentaries: Deuteronomy 31

The Moab Covenant, found in Deuteronomy 28 through 32, is considered one of the most significant covenants in the Bible, outlining blessings and curses that have historically impacted Israel. These chapters expand on the conditions introduced earlier, with references to future events associated with these divine promises. The importance of this covenant led to its regular recitation during the Feast of Tabernacles, serving as a powerful reminder for the nation to stay faithful to God. Notable figures such as Solomon, Daniel, Jeremiah, and Christ referenced these passages to encourage Israel’s repentance and faithfulness.
