Fortson's Chapter by Chapter Bible Commentaries: Deuteronomy 29

The Moab Covenant, detailed in Deuteronomy 28, is a foundational biblical promise outlining future blessings and curses that significantly impact Israel’s history. Chapters 29-32 expand on these terms, referencing the timing of upcoming curses and emphasizing their importance through traditions like the seven-year recitation during the Feast of Tabernacles. Throughout history, key figures including Solomon, Daniel, Jeremiah, and Christ have referenced this covenant as a call for Israel to remain faithful and turn back to God.
