Following the Fire

In January 1954, young pastor Gerald Derstine led his Mennonite congregation on the White Earth Indian Reservation in Minnesota to fast and pray for revival, which culminated in a profound spiritual outpouring during Christmas week. The experience brought about extraordinary phenomena reminiscent of the first Pentecost, leading the Derstine family and others into a seven-day period of intense, divine guidance. Reflecting on the event, Derstine describes it as both overwhelming and glorious, likening it to a glimpse of heaven.
