Charlie, a library worker and grandfather, enrolls in a medieval history course and becomes intrigued by a fellow mature student, Dixie Bell Compton. When Dixie is suddenly killed, Charlie investigates, uncovering unsettling rumors and secrets surrounding the professor and his wife. As more violence erupts, Charlie races to unravel the mystery, risking his own safety in the process.
