The Stray

Henrietta Hickthrift, a young girl who runs away from the Old People's Home with only a small suitcase and limited money, boards a train to the seaside. Upon arriving, she encounters the Goods—Angela, Barney, Eleanor, Rosie, and Rowley—who decide to take her in as their new friend. The story explores whether their parents will allow them to keep Henrietta, highlighting themes of friendship and adventure.
