After co-founding the Thula Thula Game Reserve with her late husband, Lawrence Anthony, she continued his conservation work and turned her experiences in the African bush into internationally acclaimed nonfiction. Her books, including An Elephant in My Kitchen and The Elephants of Thula Thula, blend personal memoir with stories of wildlife rescue, elephant conservation, and life at the reserve.
