Chiren Kina is a Japanese novelist who began writing while at university. She won the 2009 R-18 Literature Prize for Women by Women for her short story "Toketara Shibonda" and made her book-length debut in 2012 with "Static Electricity and Miyako's Unconscious." Her fiction often explores girlhood, female relationships, emotional pain, and social hierarchies, including the bestselling survival drama "Please Form Pairs," which has sold more than 130,000 copies in Japan.
