Nicholas Capaldi is an American philosopher, professor emeritus, and author whose writing spans critical thinking, philosophy, political thought, ethics, and intellectual biography. He is best known for The Art of Deception, an introduction to informal logic and recognizing fallacies, as well as scholarly works on David Hume, John Stuart Mill, liberalism, business ethics, and public policy. He taught at institutions including Loyola University New Orleans, the University of Tulsa, Columbia University, and Queens College, CUNY.
