Marlen Suyapa Bodden is a Honduran-born American author and human-rights lawyer whose writing career began with the self-published historical novel The Wedding Gift (2010), which became an international and Wall Street Journal bestseller before being acquired by St. Martin’s Press. She later wrote Arrows of Fire, a historical novel about the Spanish conquest of Mexico, and In Defense of Earth, a science-fiction novella about alien contact and environmental crisis.
