Jason Matthews was a former CIA Operations Directorate officer who spent 33 years conducting clandestine intelligence work in overseas assignments. After retiring, he began his writing career with Red Sparrow, which won the Edgar Award for Best First Novel and was adapted into a major motion picture. He continued the series with Palace of Treason and The Kremlin's Candidate.
