Natashia Deón is an American novelist, essayist, and writing professor whose debut novel, Grace, was acclaimed as a notable work of historical fiction and won the American Library Association’s Black Caucus Award for Best Debut Fiction. Her second novel, The Perishing, expanded her work into literary fantasy and speculative fiction. A PEN America fellow with an MFA in creative writing from UC Riverside, she teaches writing while continuing her literary career.
