Victor Sebestyen is a Hungarian-born British journalist and historian whose writing career began in newspapers including The Times, the Daily Mail, and the London Evening Standard, where he served as foreign editor and editorial writer. He also wrote for The New York Times and worked as an editor at Newsweek. His books are narrative histories and biographies focused on Hungary, Eastern Europe, Russia, communism, revolutions, and major turning points of the twentieth century, including Twelve Days, Revolution 1989, Lenin, 1946, Budapest, and Weimar Germany.
